Semester #6 at BYU-Idaho :)

Life has been just wonderful this semester. I do have to say, though, that this has been my busiest semester by far, but I think that's what's making it so great.
For one, I have the best roommates anyone could ask for. Now, I know people say that all the time, but I really mean it! I seriously live with my best friends! [Minus a few, of course] :) Another thing is that I've learned to be happy no matter what happens... "Come what may, and love it!" Well, I really do. Of course times get hard sometimes, but when you really, truly learn to trust in the Lord life is just so awesome. I love it! :)
One of the classes I am taking has a workbook that's kind of like a journal in a way. Every day I have to set 5 goals for myself, one for each: Spiritual, Physical, Emotional, Intellectual, and Social. I have to read for 15 minutes every day- and it even counts if it's for another class! I have to perform 3 acts of service. By being required to do this, it is making it easier and easier for me to always have one eye open for what others around me may be in need of. It's becoming a part of my daily life- serving others. :) Then, at the end of every day, there's a question for you to respond to. Some examples are: What is your favorite food and describe how you feel when you eat it. Name each member of your family and write one thing that makes them special. What is your most favorite thing to do in this whole world and why?
Can you see why I love this class so much? The homework doesn't even feel like a chore for me; it's something I look forward to doing! :) Also, every week you must complete 2-3 additional assignments in the back of the book. Some of these assignments, for example, include: List 5 things you are grateful for, beginning with each letter of the alphabet from A-M. List 5 things you are grateful for, beginning with each letter of the alphabet from N-Z. Draw a picture of the most beautiful thing you've seen today, just do the best you can. Write down your testimony. Organize an activity that involves 4 or more people. Go to Realage.com, take the test, and record your chronological age and your real age. Do 10 acts of unsolicited service in addition to your 3 required acts of service. List 25 things you absolutely want to do before you die. Write a poem...
Well, today for one of the assignments I wrote a poem about an experience I've had here at school. I suppose I'll share it with you today. Let me know what you think. :)

I place one foot in front of the other
As I walk along the campus sidewalks.
The cold air blows a leaf across my face,
And I shiver as I think about my warm bed.
I quicken my pace a little bit
As my ears begin to turn crimson.
Then I hear a voice whisper something to me,
And I slow as I check my pockets.
"Where is my iPod?" I think.
It must be in my backpack...
I'll check later;
I just want to go home.
Another nagging in my head,
"Check now."
I stop as I enter the Hart Building,
And I check inside my backpack.
Nothing.
Reluctantly I turn back.
I walk through the cold air once more,
Retracing my steps.
Back in the Clark Building,
I descend the wide staircase.
There it lay, down the hall:
My iPod. Untouched and Unscathed.
Thankful, I say a silent prayer of gratitude.
Had I not listened,
I may have lost it forever.
This time while walking home,
I enjoy the brisk air.
I think of my many blessings,
And I feel a warmth wash over me.

So....it's been a while...

Hey!!! So, I know it's been a while since i've written, but hey! I work a lot.... give me a break! ;) Haha...
Although I'm just doing fill-ins right now at work, I still get a lot of hours... Take this weekend for instance... Tonight i'll be working from 8-11pm. Tomorrow i'll be working from 6am-noon. Friday night/Saturday morning i'll be working from 1-7am. Saturday night i'll be working from 8-11pm. Sunday i'll be working from 1-7pm. Sunday night/Monday morning i work from 1-7am. Monday i work from 5-7pm. then Tuesday night/Wednesday morning i work from 1-7am again. Talk about crazy hours!!! I have no idea when i'm going to sleep! Or when i'm going to spend time with my roommates and/or boyfriend!!! It's crazy!! What is that? Like 38 hours? Yeah, it's a lot! That's good though...! I need to be making the money!! :)
Ooo!!! Guess what!? My favorite singer ever is coming back to BYU-Idaho again on June 19th!!! Who is it??? David Archuleta. Yeah, that's right. I love him. Haha. :) The last time he came here was on December 4th. By bending a few rules, I ended up meeting him and getting a picture!! It was absolutely amazing! Oh man. And what's going to be even better this time is that both of my sisters (Alyssa and Tiffani) and my niece (Zion) are coming with me!!! :) I'm SO EXCITED!!!! :)
Seriously!!!.... I don't think we'll get that lucky this time... ESPecially with me having a 10-yr-old, 11-yr-old, and 16-yr-old with me...! Oh well though. It'll be a treat just to get to see him sing again. Honestly... I am in love with his voice. Bah.....
Anyways, enough of that for now. Right now i'm doing my laundry at my guy friends house. They are so nice!! They have a washer/dryer in their garage, and they let me just come here and wash my clothes for free. It's amazing! Haha... I seriously owe them.... Well, actually. Maybe they owe me! Hahaha.... I was/am the band manager for a couple guys here (band:The Final Element). I helped them sell CDs and booked a few shows for them last year--all for no pay. They haven't played anything in a long time though... And who knows if they ever will again as a band. Phil Hayes, the bass player, graduated last summer and is now going to grad school in Pocatello. Saegen Paget, the lead singer/back up guitarist, just graduated last semester and is now at home in Washington. So... it's a little hectic right now because they are so spread out. Jack Parker, the drummer, is still here in Rexburg right now and is drummer for another band which i really like--The Climbing. [Check them out!] And lastly, Sebastian Paget, the lead guitarist/back up singer, is still here in Rexburg too.
Well...back to laundry... haha. It is hopefully almost done now. My stuff is in the dryer right now. I'm gonna go check on it! I'll catch ya later!!! Peace.

La-la-la-la-la-la-la-LIFE is Wonderful....

*Sigh. Oh, I just love life. Today was a great day. I went to work at 4 in the morning, and then came home, had "family" prayer with my apartment, read my scriptures, and then slept for like 4 1/2 hours or so. :) After that, I juggled with some down time. That was kinda boring, but then I went to the temple with my friend, DUMDI!!! It was so nice to go do some more baptisms. I honestly am so blessed to have a temple so close to me, where I can just go to whenever I feel like (almost). I am going to make it a goal for me to go to the temple at least once a week to do baptisms--hopefully more. It helps me take my mind off things, and I am doing a great and sacred ordinance at the same time.
What's really cool is that from my apartment window we have the PERFECT view of the temple. At night it is just gorgeous!!! Sometime I will take a picture with a zoom camera and post it up here. Until then though, you'll just have to trust me. ;)
Well, I suppose I better be going. It's late and I should get to bed. [Haha....when else do I write? Besides when it's late at night... Oh well! You like it.] :)

How Can I Be?

These are the lyrics to one of my favorite songs EVER! It is played on the ukelele. Look it up on youtube sometime! It's so good! :)

How Can I Be?

How can I be like my brother Nephi?
and My father Lehi of old?
How can I be like Captain Moroni
In the wars that were told?

How can I see forever
Like the promise to the three Nephites?
I wanna be Samuel the Lamanite
I wanna be Benjamin the Wise
I wanna be like Abinidi
Oh tell me how can I be like them?

How can I be like Alma the Younger,
Strong servant of the Lord?
How can I be like Mighty Ammon,
Whose heart was his sword?

How can I be a stripling warrior,
And learn to fight by faith?
I wanna be Samuel the Lamanite
I wanna be Benjamin the Wise
I wanna be like Abinidi
Oh tell me how can I be like them?

How can I be like my brother Joseph,
When he prayed in the grove of trees?
How can I have the strength that he had
And the love he had for God?

How can I be courageous
And strive to choose the right?
I wanna be Samuel the Lamanite
I wanna be Benjamin the Wise
I wanna be like Abinidi
I wanna be like Jesus Christ
Oh tell me how can I be like Him?
Oh tell me how can I be like Him?

Work and the Temple

It's been a long night. Last night I didn't lie down to go to sleep til nearly 1 a.m., knowing i'd have to be up in just over 2 hours to go to work. I was covering part of a girl's shift that I work with [at Homestead Assisted Living] , and I agreed to go in from 4-7 a.m. [for the past two nights]. Tuesday night/morning was pretty busy and I was working nearly the whole shift. Last night/this morning, however, was actually pretty nice and relaxing. Fallon, the girl I was working for, told me that everything was done when I got there, so I could pretty much relax until it was time for me to get Horace up (WAY funny man!), and to get Lorna up. It was nice....except for I obviously couldn't go to sleep. I got called a few times by some residents, but not enough to be a bother.
After I got off work I came home and changed to go to the temple. I invited my roommate, Kaya, to come with me, so I was her wake-up call when I got home. It felt so nice to be back in the temple, and it was completely relaxing. Now that I'm home and showered though, I am going to go to sleep! I really need rest, because last night I think I only maybe got one hour of sleep. Bah!
Until next time!!!.........

it's me, fool!

I just need to STOP worrying about guys. I know that when the time is right that Heavenly Father will make things happen for me. Until then, I am just going to be content with being ME and being SINGLE!! :) I need to live it up and just have fun! I think I can get used to this idea. :)
I love my Heavenly Father sooo much, and I know He knows what's best for me. I'm just going to trust in Him that everything will work out for me. :)
[*Attached is a funny picture I took of myself earlier tonight in my room. You can laugh; it's ok.]

Blonde or Brown

Okay, so I know that no one actually reads this so it doesn't really matter... but I'm trying to decide what to do with my hair. My hair is naturally a dirty blonde/light brown. For the majoirty of my life I've had my hair blonde. Just this past October I decided it was time for a change and dyed it dark brown. While I do like the brown, I'm contemplating going back to blonde--at least a dark golden blonde anyway. I don't like how the brown fades... I either like it dark or light. Not in between. And besides that, my natural light hair color is growing back and makes it look like i'm going gray or something. Haha, not exactly the look i'm going for! :P
So, here I will post a pic of me with both colors. Maybe seeing them side-by-side will help me decide.

Late Night...

So...I'm really not very good at this blogging thing. I can't ever seem to find where to go and what buttons to push, but I guess that'll all come with time & practice, right?
It's a late night and I really should be in bed right now. I have class in the morning and a test to take tomorrow. Instead, here I am doing the randomest of things. Blogging! Okay... so maybe I need to get my priorities straight.... But until that happens!... Hope you guys enjoy my absolutely boring and pointless 'first post'.
I better be getting to bed. Goodnight all! :)
